NOTICE TO ALL BSUM STUDENTS CONCERNING ASUU NATION WIDE STRIKE

As you may be aware, ASUU at its NEC Meeting held at the university of Abuja, resolved and has embarked on a total, comprehensive and indefinite strike action to press home the implementation of the 2009 ASUU/FGN Agreement and the 2013 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and directed all its branches to join the strike.


In Compliance with the directive ASUU-BSU resolved in a letter to the Vice-Chancellor dated 16th August, 2017 to join the strike with effect from Wednesday, 16th August, 2017 as according to ASUU-BSU, this was a national action by the union.

However, the management of the university wishes to inform all students that it has appealed to the National President of ASUU in a letter dated 15th August, 2017 to grant the ASUU-BSU a waiver and exemption from the ongoing nation wide strike action.


Management further wishes to inform you that this issue would be hopefully resolved by this weekend as ASUU-NEC is expected to consider the appeal at its meeting scheduled for Saturday, 18th August, 2017.

Management, therefore appeals to you to remain calm and go about your normal academic work while the issue us being resolved.
