The Vice-Chancellor of Benue State University, Makurdi, Prof. Msugh Kembe has appealed to Benue sons and daughters to contribute to the development of the University.
Prof. Kembe made the appeal while taking delivery of assorted volumes of books and journals donated to the University by the Director of Monetary Policy, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Moses Tule.
He expressed appreciation to Mr. Tule for making the donation of books without being promoted and appealed to other people of goodwill, particularly Benue people in strategic positions, to emulate the donor.
He listed possible areas of such interventions as including infrastructural development and endowment of professorial chairs in the various disciplines of studies.
Earlier, the donor, Mr. Moses Tule, who was represented but the Director, Centre for Development and Linkages, Benue State University, Prof. Terfa Ortese, had stated that, the donation was part of his contribution to enhance the University’s capacity of meeting its mandate of Teaching, Learning and Research.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Msugh Kembe also yesterday received members of the National Universities Commission (NUC) Accreditation team for two courses in the Faculty of Management Sciences; Accounting and Business Management.
The leader of the four member accreditation team, Prof. Jane Ande observed that the Programmes offered by the University to the public rank high compared to similar ones anywhere in the world.
While receiving the team, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Msugh Kembe, had noted that accreditation is not a witch hunting exercise but a routine peer review of courses to uphold standards.
He therefore urged them to conduct the exercise with an open mind and come out with frank observations.
