BSU Hyena is back, but dead – Zoo Officials

Confusion has continued to trail the news of a hyena that escaped from the Benue State University zoological garden last week.

Last Friday, news broke that the missing hyena had returned but when our correspondents visited the zoo, only one hyena was seen in the cage instead of the usual two.

According to zoo officials who won’t approve their names to be published, the hyena returned but died shortly after.

The officials declined providing further details of what happened saying only the Hon. Commission of Culture and Tourism could provide such.

Meanwhile, normalcy has returned as visitors including pupils from kingdom’s delight Montesori Int’l Academy, Ugbokolo were at the zoo on a tourist tour.
