In a recent interview with the National Coordinator African Union Students' Association (Mr. Emmanuel Igoh), he revealed to our correspondent that the Union has made Benue State University Makurdi her choice of hosting institutions, where he hinted with optimism that the institution under the leadership of Gov. Samuel Otorm and the Executive Vice Chancellor of the University will be willing to welcome new innovative ideas by hosting the phase two edition of the African Union Student Association National Peace Summit which is likely to hold in the month of November.
He further told our correspondent that the AU-ECOSOCC Nigeria under the leadership of Dr. Tunji Asaolu has expressed readiness to support the event to attain it maximum pace while required preparations are on going.
He added that "The summit which is aimed towards repositioning the minds of young Africans on the path of Nation Building Projects, Accountability,transparency towards National Governance and the promotion of Peace and Unity amongst Students of African Nationalities will be having direct political, social and economic impacts on our immediate societies. The summit which will feature international and national dignitaries is also capable of creating new platforms for cultural exchange programme with other countries and also engaging Benue State youths in promotion of Benue Culture abroad in the fast growing globalized world."
