This week, Team Bsugottalent present you with Mr. Akura Valentine from the department of mass communication... He is a  "A blogger"...

Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Am Akura Terhemba valentine by name, a student of Mass communication Benue State University 100level , am Tiv by tribe, And also a Benue state handballer.

When did you start blogging professionally ?
==I started blogging professionally in October Last year(2015)

Do you have other blogs that you run and if so, what are they and what are they about ?
==yes theres another blog which I run, the name of the blog is BBCnigeria.com.ng. Its basically about News around Nigeria and the Globe, although am not really focused there. (i got a friend who is a higher staff and co owner).

==Musicbox is a Promotion website, we Promote both stars and upcoming artists to a large range of audience, we make their works available for free Downloads to our readers and their fans.

How would you rate your own blog on a scale of 1 to 10 and why would you rate it that way ?
==I'll Rate it 8. Musicbox.com.ng has a Nice design by a professional webmaster, good and Quality hosting to accommodate loads of visitors as possible, we receive a reasonable amount of traffic daily, team work and we employ Professionalism and work with our rules and policies.

Are you a full time blogger? How did you get into blogging and why?
Not really a full time blogger cos I now have my University education in front of me.i had always loved computers right from (childhood) when I was a kid, so I had also wanted to be a computer freak. A friend of mine brought up the idea of me joining hands with him in creating a blog and at least we could earn some little stuffs from it . And here we are with musicbox.com.ng. I so much appreciate this dude we'v been more like brothers. His name is okoye Philip Hillary Nitro


What are some blogging myths that you don’t believe are true ?
==The 1st myth which I dont believe in is 'You should post daily'. Posting daily is really a nice idea which we could say keeps your readers updated and your ranking in create, Then you have the other side that insist that posting daily will be too much for your readers. They’ll get overwhelmed and unfollow.,

secondly, its is said that 'Nobody reads long post'. This is another myth that’s all over. If the post is long, it won’t be read. Let’s change this myth: If a post is boring, it won’t be read. The trick is to make EVERY WORD COUNT.

Thirdly some say If you spend under an hour on a post, it’s rubbish quality.This depends on the type of post. I have a Balance between the two. Some of my blog posts, I like to research to either find facts or other peoples thoughts so they’ll take longer.

Here’s another one 'Stats don’t matter.' I’m not ashamed of saying that I care about stats. I check my page views and followers daily, I’ll check webmaster tools and Google analytics once or twice a week. I want to know how my blog is progressing and if I’m doing things right.
Let's cope with this one for now.


How important is keyword research in what you do as a blogger ?
==I wouldn’t be wrong if I say, “This is the first ever step in blogging you must perform carefully”.For me, I would say Keyword research is the backbone of your blog, this is an approach which will help you to understand more about your targeted niche. This is a most crucial point to make your blog post SEO optimized.

How long did it take before you started to see 10000 visitors a month ?
==Not really long tho, I could say 2 months or 3. My blog is not even up to a year old yet.

When do you feel is the right time to monetize a blog?
==DAY1

How many social channels do you think a blogger should have accounts on ?
==As a many as he can handle.

One thing about blogging is having the ability to find your voice since there are millions of other blogs out there to compete with. How did you find “your voice” or your style of blogging for your blog ?
==Like i earlier said, we apply Professionalism in All we do, that's what keeps the Brand moving, we know what our readers wants and we deliver with Direct links for eazy and straight Downloads, that keeps our readers attached to us.

What do you do when you aren’t working on your blog?
==I could say alot happens, I could hang around with friends or either on tight school schedule or I could find my self in the court(handball) "alot happens".

What would you prioritize? Content? SEO ? Traffic? Readers?
==I prioritize my content firstly, what's the essence of having the rest without been able to deliver good and reliable content, what i post is what i highly consider firstly. Before looking at my seo, then probably the rest starts coming in.

What was your greatest failure and what did you learn from that?
==I have no failure so far, apart from the stress and the unending payments we keep making to host and webmasters, were artists all be looking for free workers, i don't do the free work Shall.
